Pleasant Ridge Park Renovation

Pleasant Ridge Park Renovation

AJ Bright was delighted by the opportunity to act as general contractor for the renovation of Pleasant Ridge Park’s recreation area at Camp Spearhead. The goal of this extensive outdoor project was to take this previously seldom used area and turn it into a favorited spot for a wide-range of activities. To do so, we saw to it that the camp’s preexisting detention pond was converted into a serene and fully-functional engineered fishing pond. We then completed the surrounding area of the pond with a beautiful boardwalk, a covered shelter, a deck fit for both lounging and viewing, and a designated area for seamless boat launch capabilities.

Because Camp Spearhead is a camp designed for children of various disabilities, we also made sure that the boardwalk is handicap accessible and includes handrails throughout. The boardwalk itself is made up of composite decking, increasing durability and making for minimal maintenance. For the freshest water and added sustainability, the fishing pond also takes advantage of existing storm water run-off as well as multiple natural springs. AJ Bright’s tam is grateful knowing we were part of a project that allows the children attending this Marietta, SC camp to enjoy their new recreation area now and for years to come.
